Photo Checks#
Alpha
Photo check is an early version. Its screens and behavior may still change, and it runs on its own: a photo check does not answer a checklist question, raise a finding or start a corrective action.
A photo check asks one yes/no question about a place in your plant, for example Is the marked walkway clear? You teach it with example photos of how the place should look and what must be flagged. Then you take a photo at the workstation, and the platform answers the question, says what it saw, and asks you whether it got it right.
Your answer is the point. Every correction can become an example, and the next photo is judged against it.
Open it from the side menu with Photo check (Alpha).
Before you start#
Photo checks need an AI provider. If your account has none, the page says so and photos cannot be judged yet. Add an OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Azure AI or Ollama integration under system integrations. See Connect an AI provider.
Each photo you check is sent to that provider together with the scenario's question and examples.
Scenarios#
The start page lists your scenarios. Each one shows:
| Element | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Name and question | What the scenario checks. |
| ok / not ok | How many example photos it has on each side. |
| needs more examples | Shown while either side has fewer than three example photos. |
| photos | How many photos it has judged. |
| agreement | Of the answers someone rated, the share that were right. not rated yet until somebody rates one. |
| Off | The scenario is switched off. |
Select Check a photo on a scenario to take a photo for it, or select the scenario to edit it.
Create a scenario#
- Select New scenario.
-
Under The question, enter:
Field Content Name A short name for the list, for example Marked walkway clear. Question The yes/no question, for example Is the marked walkway clear? Extra instructions Optional. Anything the photos cannot say on their own, for example Ignore people walking through. Active Switch it off to keep the scenario but mark it as not in use. The list then shows it as Off. -
Select Save.
- Add the example photos.
The question has to be saved before example photos can be added.
Write a question a photo can answer#
Ask one thing that can be seen in the picture.
| Works | Does not work |
|---|---|
| Is the marked walkway clear? | Is this area 5S compliant? |
The second question cannot be answered from a photo. To get a 5S score, create six scenarios, one per point you can see, and count how many pass.
Examples#
The examples holds photos of the same place, sorted into the answer you would give for each:
| Side | Holds |
|---|---|
| Acceptable | How it should look. |
| Not acceptable | What must be flagged. |
Select Photo on a side to add one. Aim for about five a side to start with.
Add a note to a photo before you pick the file: What should the platform notice? A note teaches much more than the photo alone.
Examples that came from a rated answer are marked taught, and are used first when a new photo is judged: they are the cases the platform has already seen at your plant.
Check a photo#
The check screen is made for a phone at the workstation.
- Select Check a photo on the scenario.
- Select Take a photo. The phone opens its camera; on a desktop you pick a file.
- Wait a few seconds while the platform looks at it.
- Read the answer.
| Part | Meaning |
|---|---|
| OK / NOT OK | The answer to the question. |
| UNSURE | The platform cannot tell from this photo. This is a valid answer, not an error. Take another photo or rate it. |
| Reason | What it saw, in plain words. |
| Confidence | low, medium or high. |
Then answer Was that right?
| Answer | Next |
|---|---|
| Right | Saved as agreed. |
| Wrong | Pick The right answer is (OK or NOT OK), optionally note What did it miss?, and select Save. It will be judged against your answer next time. |
Once the answer is rated, select Use this photo as an example to add the photo to the examples, on the side of the right answer. Select Another photo to check the next one.
What it answered#
The scenario page lists every answer under What it answered, with the agreement over all rated answers. Answers nobody has rated yet are at the top.
Rate them here as on the check screen: Right, or Wrong with The right answer is and a note. A note on a wrong answer is optional, but it is what teaches the scenario. Each entry then shows You agreed, or You said and your answer, and now an example once its photo was added to the examples.
Delete a scenario#
Select Delete scenario on the scenario page and confirm. The log of what it answered stays readable.
Notes and limits#
- Alpha. The feature may change, and it is not connected to checklists, audits, findings or CAPA.
- One question per scenario. It answers yes or no, or says it is unsure.
- An AI provider is required. Photos are judged by the provider connected to your account.
- The answer is a suggestion. It never decides on its own, and the agreement figure shows how often it was right according to the people who rated it.
