Timeline View#

The Timeline view visualizes Business objects duration base on 2 properties

A Timeline grouped by a Selection property, colored by Status, with today's column highlighted

Settings:

  • Start: Business Model property of type Date or Timestamp
  • End: Business Model property of type Date or Timestamp
  • Group by: Business Model property of type Status, Selection, Stages, User, Many-To-One One-To-Many
  • Status: Business Model property of type Status, if selected the objects will be colored by their Status color
  • Show empty rows/columns, "Start" icon: If selected the rows/columns without any Business objects will not be shown

Showing and hiding a status:

  • When a Status property is selected, the status chips shown above the timeline are clickable. Clicking a chip hides every entry with that status and marks the chip with a crossed-out eye; clicking it again brings them back. This is handy for taking finished work out of a busy timeline without changing the view's filter.
  • The count on a chip keeps describing the loaded data, so it does not change when you hide a status.
  • The choice lives in the open view only — it is not saved with the view and is gone when you leave it.

Notes:

  • The column of the current day is highlighted, in the header and in every row, whenever today lies within the selected date range, as the 07.09 column above
  • If you Group by a Date property you have to filter by a range in order to see its options
  • If you Group by a User property for only the first 100 Users/Groups or both will be shown
  • If you Group by a Many-To-One or One-To-Many only the first 100 Business objects corresponding to the property Business Model or both will be shown
